PowerRipper Features

PowerRipper was designed using a flexible framework to allow for expandability and a rich feature set. No other PowerFile ripping service can match many important features available only with PowerRipper.

Automated Ripping
PowerRipper was designed to automated hundreds of disk rips in one session with little to no intervention by users. This is achieved by fast loading, handling disk fail overs, local CDDB database, and completion notification.

Multi-PowerFile Support

Many of the products on the market do not support multiple PowerFiles or are not designed to use multiple PowerFiles in the same User Interface. PowerRipper provides a simple but elegant way to view, manage, and rip multiple PowerFiles at the same time.

Single/Dual/Custom PowerFile Drive Selection
PowerFile drive selection come in three varieties; single drive, dual drive, and dual drive single drive use. PowerRipper supports selection of any drive(s) that you have to rip from. For faster ripping, you can use a dual drive system. For PowerFiles with one misbehaving drive, you can still select the drive you want to use and keep that PowerFile ripping.

Multiple Encoding on the same disk simulatenously
One pass encoding of all your formats is available through PowerRipper. If your requirements are to encode MP3, WAV, and WMA from the same audio disk, PowerRipper can perform this operation in one pass. Plus with some multi-threaded codecs, multiple encodings of the same format are also possible. For example, PowerRipper can simulaenously rip using the included MP3 codec in 128, 196, and 320 kbs.

Power Slot Management for faster load/unload times
PowerFiles have an internal bowl balancing load management. Thus slot 1 is at bowl position 1, but slot 2 is NOT bowl position 3, and so on. Although the bowl moves very quickly loading 200 disks where the PowerFile constantly moves around, can increase the load and unload time. Power Slot Management overrides the bowl balancing and loads and unloads the slots in sequence, thus decreasing the load and unload times.
Please note that this should only be used when loading at least 180 disk! Bowl balancing exists to protect your PowerFile and disk from damage.

Drive fail over support (For dual drive PowerFiles)
While ripping, some disks do not mount, spin up, and are recognized by some drives. PowerRipper will attempt the drive multiple times, but if its not recognized, the product will eject the disk and mark it to be tried in the other drive.

Local CDDB album database
PowerRipper includes a custom CDDB database with over two million album entries. The local database provide a faster access time to album information and a way to continue operating when CDDB sites are not accessible.

Coming Soon AMG (All Media Guide)Support
As part of our continued PowerRipper progress, we will be adding AMG support. AMG support will include image embedding upgrade. Please inquiry about more details.

CDDB Internet Integration
The local album database contains the majority of database entries, but there are always more. The CDDB internet integration can attempt to identify your disk that are not found in your local database. Upon succesfully downloading an album entry, the local CDDB database will be updated. PowerRipper can also try multiple CDDB web sites in case one does not have the entry or is currently down.

Custom file path creation
The choose of file path is a preference that can be specified in the PowerRipper Rip Wizard for each Encoder. Both the path and filename can be customized based on Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Track Name, and CDDB ID.

Completion Notification
When a rip has completed, there are two options for being notified the rip process has completed. You have your option of Email and Sound. The Email option can also send a detail Rip Report, which provides you a break down of the ripping process and any errors.

Customizable Album and Rip Reports
PowerRipper can also generate customize Album and Disk Reports. Both the album and disk reports use XSL templates that make it easy to change the layout and or images used in these reports.
