Requirements

PowerRipper has very specific needs as to the equipment and required software. This section discusses your equipment that is needed in order for PowerRipper to function properly.

PowerFile First and for most you need a PowerFile, preferably a newer dual drive modal. The fast (and most expensive) of all PowerFiles is the R200-DL, although any older or single drive model will work. You should follow the instructions on PowerFile's requirement for OCHI compliant 1394 cards and ensure that your PowerFile is functioning properly before using PowerRipper.

System Requirements The preference and tested platform for PowerRipper is Window XP Professional. When using the WMA Codec, please ensure to install Media Player 10.0. Although Windows XP Home and Windows 2003 should also work, they have not been fully tested. The encoders are typically very CPU intensive, CPU requirements will increase for every additional PowerFile, drives, and higher encoder bitrates options you choose. For a single drive, single encoder option, any 500 mhz processor will work, although encod ing might slow down your ripping. To achieve the highest performance, you should always make sure your processing power is greater then your ripping speed. For multiple dual drive PowerFiles with multiple encoders we recommend no less then a Dual Xeon 2.66 GHZ or greater processor to ensure maximum performance.
